Debra Franklin Human Resources, News Leave a Comment

Did you know that 79% of HR managers surveyed believe that “Super Bowl Monday” should be considered a holiday?!  I wonder why…. Perhaps it has to do with the sudden, rapid, rampant onset of “Super Bowl Flu”.  Super Bowl Flu typically attacks the young, as 44% of those who call off on the Monday following the big game are in this age range.  Sadly, most of the victims are male, with 42% of them being late for work compared with 20% of women, who seem to have a natural resistance to this scourge.

Symptoms of Super Bowl Flu include headache, nausea, exhaustion and rabid fandom.  So, will you be giving your employees any slack on Monday?  Consider setting the expectation today so that everyone is on the same page about how you intend to deal with the Super Bowl Flu.  Oh, by the way, it is predicted to reach epidemic proportions if the Eagles win.  FLY, EAGLES, FLY!!
