Joe Nolt has served Murray Risk Management and Insurance as Chairman since 1983. Prior to Murray, Joe served as Assistant Vice President at Marsh and McLennan. He was a surety bond underwriter with Aetna Life and Casualty, served as a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force.

Joe graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with an A.B. and earned an MA from Eastern New Mexico University.

Joe has been involved in many community and civic organizations. He serves as Trustee Emeritus for Franklin & Marshall College, and has received the College Annual Alumni Medal. He is also Past-President of their National Alumni Board. Joe has served as President of the Lancaster Family YMCA and the YMCA Foundation Boards. He served on the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce Board and currently the Lancaster Alliance Board and Lancaster Arts Board.

In November 2006, Joe was awarded the honor of being inducted as a Laureate into Junior Achievement of Central Pennsylvania’s Hall of Achievement where he was recognized for his achievements in executive management and community leadership. In May of 2007, he was honored with the Lancaster Chamber Exemplar Award for his contributions to the local business community and his strong dedication to Lancaster County.

Joe served as a National Director of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers. He was President and long-time Director of Keystone Chapter, Associated Builders and Contractors, and President of Merit Shop Training and Research Center, Inc. He has also served on various regional and national insurance industry boards and councils.
