Bruce Cannon, Vice President
Employee Benefits Division Manager

Bruce began with Murray Risk Management and Insurance in 2005 as Vice President, Employee Benefits Division Manager. Bruce brings a wealth of experience to Murray having worked in the Employee Benefits industry for over twenty years. He served as a Senior Level Consultant for several of Pennsylvania’s leading health insurance and employee benefits providers. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Employee Benefits of Sovereign Benefits Consulting, a division of Sovereign Bank. Previous to Sovereign Benefits Consulting, Cannon was Director of Client Services/Senior Consultant for American Insurance Administrators.

Bruce earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Psychology from La Salle University. He is currently pursuing the Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC) and Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) designations through American College. Bruce was a graduate of Executive Leadership Lancaster in 2006. Bruce is currently involved with the Lancaster County Business Group on Health. He has served as a Board Member for St. Leo the Great Elementary School and for the Dutch Council Boy Scouts of America.

Matt K. Pfeiffenberger, Vice President
Benefits and Communications Services

Matt began with Murray Risk Management and Insurance in 2006 as Vice President, Benefits and Communication Services. Matt brings a broad range of skills and experience to Murray having worked in the employee benefits industry for over eighteen years. Most recently he served as National Director – Benefit Communications for Willis North America where he was responsible for leading the national benefits communication team, which provided employee communication services to Willis clients nationwide.

Prior to his work with Willis, he served as Vice President – Communications for CGI Consulting Group, Inc., in Malvern, Pennsylvania. While there, he developed and lead a full-service employee benefits communications team which provided year-round communication services to CGI’s client-employers.

Matt is a noted speaker in the area of communications, group insurance, Human Resources, strategic planning and employee benefits, as well as select topics. He has also spoken to numerous employee and Human Resource groups around the country during his extensive communications career. Matt earned a Bachelor of Philosophy from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Philadelphia.

Kathy A. Troutman, HIA
Employee Benefits Consultant

Kathy began her career with Murray Risk Management and Insurance in 2004 as an Account Executive. She was promoted to Employee Benefits Consultant in 2006. Kathy has over 19 years experience in the field of Employee Benefits having previously worked for several other national and regional companies. Kathy received the Health Insurance Associate (HIA) designation in 1993 and has taken various other continuing education courses. She is involved with the American Heart Association, Christian Childrens’ Sponsorship, and St. Jude’s Childrens’ Hospital. She has previously been active with the Lancaster County Business Group on Health.

Maureen A. Pfeiffenberger
Employee Benefits Consultant

Maureen began with Murray Risk Management and Insurance in 2006 as Employee Benefits Consultant. Pfeiffenberger brings a wealth of knowledge to Murray having worked in the Employee Benefits industry for over fifteen years. Pfeiffenberger has expertise in client relationship management on both self-insured and fully-insured platforms. She is also highly experienced in developing employee benefit plan designs and strategic benefit plans. Prior to Murray she served as Assistant Vice President/ Senior Consultant and then Director, BHQ Operations for Willis North America, Employee Benefits Practice, Radnor, Pennsylvania. Maureen attended a local business college as well as various other continuing education courses. She is active with several public school organizations in the Philadelphia Area.

Richard L. Gunning, Jr., CLU, Vice President
Employee Benefits Consultant

Rick began with Murray Risk Management and Insurance in 1987 as Vice President and Division Manager. Currently he serves as Employee Benefit Consultant working with companies to develop strategic plans for them to better manage their healthcare programs. Prior to joining Murray, Rick worked for Aetna Life and Casualty as a group employee benefit specialist from 1969 until 1973. He was with a local insurance agency form 1973 until 1983 as an employee benefit producer. He was a founding partner in the Gunning/Strickler and Associates employee benefits insurance agency. This company merged with Murray Risk Management and Insurance 1987 to form the Employee Benefit Division. Rick earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Franklin and Marshall College in 1966. He earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) degree in 1976 from the American College. Rick has served on the Board of Directors of Junior
Achievement, Lancaster Life Underwriters Association, the S. June Smith Center, and Board member and Past President of the Lancaster Estate Planning Council. He is a Life Member of the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table.

Randall C. Achenbach
Employee Benefits Consultant

Randy began his career with Murray Risk Management and Insurance as Account Executive in 2001. He was promoted to his current position as Employee Benefits Consultant in 2005. Prior to joining Murray, Randy was a Vice President, Benefits Manager for Sedgwick James and its successor, Marsh, for 24 years in the
Harrisburg, PA office. He held various positions in Benefits management and operations. Randy earned an Associate degree in Business Administration from Keystone College. Randy co-founded the Mechanicsburg Soccer Club and served as coach and President of the Club and in other capacities. In addition, he served as an officer in the Central PA Youth Soccer League. He was a Mechanicsburg High School Varsity Girls Soccer Coach and Assistant Varsity Boys Soccer Coach. Randy also served as assistant scoutmaster and Webelo leader for Scout Troop 87.

Molly C. Shaughnessy
Employee Benefits Consultant

Molly began with Murray Risk Management and Insurance as an Employee Benefits Consultant in 2006. Prior to Murray, she worked at Willis of North America as a Benefits
Consultant. She worked for First Eastern Bank (currently PNC Bank) for twenty years holding various positions, lastly as Senior Vice President of Human Resources.
Molly earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Marymount College and graduated with honors from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. She is active as a member of the Human Resources Task Force with the Wilkes - Barre Chamber of Commerce. Previously, she has served on the board for the Salvation Army, Advisory Board for the local public radio and television stations, and Catholic Youth Center Advisory Board. She has also been active with Wilkes University Capital Campaign and the Presidents Council at Kings College.

Suzanne R. Tercha
Account Executive

Suzanne began with Murray Risk Management and Insurance as Account Executive, Employee Benefits Division in 2005. Prior to Murray she served as Account Manager for Fair Consulting Group, Inc. Suzanne is active in several golf associations including Women’s Central Penn Golf Association, Heidelberg Country Club, and Galen Hall Country Club. She has won several amateur titles both locally and regionally for individual and team events. She is a previous member of the Women’s Golf Association of Philadelphia. Suzanne has organized and hosted “Rally for a Cure” Breast Cancer awareness golf tournaments for several years which benefits the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. She is also an annual participant in the “Race for a Cure Breast Cancer 5K” held in Philadelphia. She is an active member of the Berks County Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Cornwall Terrace Community Association. Suzanne attended Reading Area Community College focusing on insurance business and ethics.

Pauline F. Lloyd
Claims and Enrollment Specialist

Pauline began her career with Murray Risk Management and Insurance in 1999 as the Enrollment and Claims Specialist, Employee Benefits Division. Pauline has over 13 years experience working with Brokers and over 30 years working with employee benefits in the area of Human Resources. Pauline attended the University of New Mexico and St. Petersburg College where, at both, she focused on business administration. She also attended Pennsylvania State University studying paralegal law. Pauline is a member of the National Association of Insurance Women, National Notary Association, The American Cancer Society where she works with the Township contribution/ membership drives, and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
