Stephen V. Riley, Sr. Vice President
Steve began with Murray Risk Management and Insurance in 1989 as an Account Executive. He was promoted to Vice President, Commercial Division in 1998 and Senior Vice President in 2001. Steve heads up Program Services Division which includes captive management, claim administration and risk management services. Prior to Murray, Steve worked in various Risk Managerial positions for several national/international corporations.
Steve is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Safety Management and is a graduate of the Leadership Lancaster.
Steve serves as President of CARE, Ltd., a group captive for Not-for-Profit Retirement Communities and is a member of the Captive Insurance Companies Association and Risk Insurance Management Society. He is also active in multiple community and civic organizations and is currently a Director for Pleasant View Retirement Community and Schreiber Pediatric Rehabilitation Center. He is former Chairman of Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Pennsylvania and the Lancaster County Children and Youth Agency Boards.
Sheri C. Riley, AAI, CPIW, Vice President
Sheri began with Murray Risk Management and Insurance as an Account Executive for the Commercial Sales and Services Division in 1994. She joined the Program Services Division in 2003 and was promoted to position of Vice President of this division. Prior to Murray, she worked in commercial sales in various capacities within the insurance industry.
Sheri graduated from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She earned the Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) designation and the Certified
Professional Insurance Woman (CPIW) designation. She was a graduate of the Leadership Lancaster Class in 1992 and is currently pursuing the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
Sheri serves as Vice President on the Board of the Demuth Foundation and is active with Schreiber Pediatric Rehabilitation Services. She is also active with the Lancaster Employers’ Group of Workers’ Compensation. She is Past Company Campaign
Coordinator for the United Way of Lancaster County, has served on the Board of Directors for Historic Rock Ford Plantation, and was a member of the Business Expo and Convention Committee for the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Mark R. Bennett, AIC, Vice President
Claim Services
Mark Bennett began with Murray Risk Management and Insurance as a Claim Supervisor in 1986. Mark has served in various claims and managerial positions and was promoted to Vice President of Claims in 1995. Prior to Murray, Mark worked as a multi-line Claim Adjuster for a large regional carrier. Prior to entering the insurance industry he served as a Los Angeles, California Police Officer.
Mark earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Personnel Management with a minor in Economics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He earned the Associate in Claims (AIC) designation and was a graduate of Leadership Lancaster.
Mark is member of the Lancaster Claims Association and has worked with the American Red Cross as a Certified Trainer of Standard First Aid and CPR and with Schreiber Pediatric Rehabilitation Center in coordinating several special events. Currently Mark is active as a Deacon at Wheatland Presbyterian Church and as a coach in the Delaware Valley Hockey League.
James L. Landis, CSP, ARM, Vice President
Risk Control Services
Jim began working for Murray Risk Management and Insurance as Vice President, Risk Management Services in 1984. From 1977-1984, he worked as a Loss Control Manager at Reliance Insurance Company. From 1973-1977 he worked for USF&G
Insurance Company as a Loss Control Consultant.
Jim received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Millersville University in 1971. He became a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) in 1980, earned the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation in 1983, and attained the Pennsylvania Property/ Casualty License in 1984. Jim has been active as a Professional Member of the
American Society of Safety Engineers for over 30 years.
He is a Qualified Accident and Illness Prevention Provider through the Pennsylvania Department of Labor. He is an authorized Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 500 Trainer for Construction. He is a member of the IU13 Joint Authority Board, the IU13 Education Foundation, and is a member of the Steering Committee for the Corporate University for Millersville University. Jim has also served on the School Board for Conestoga Valley School District in several capacities including President and Vice President and as a Trustee for the Pennsylvania School District Liquid Asset Fund.
Norman J. Lutz, Assistant Vice President
Manager, Physician Services
Norm began his career with Murray Risk Management and Insurance in 2001 as a Medical Services Manager. In 2003 he was promoted to Account Executive, with a primary responsibility for the program growth of the Central Pennsylvania Physicians Risk Retention Group, Inc. (CPPRRG), a medical malpractice insurance program administered by and offered exclusively through Murray.
Norm was promoted to Manager, Physician Services in 2006 and Assistant Vice President in 2007. Prior to his work in the insurance industry, Norm was a staff paramedic at Lancaster General Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital. He served as Director of the Mobile Intensive Care Unit at St. Joseph Hospital. He completed his career at St. Joseph as a sales and marketing representative for the hospital’s occupational medicine department. Norm also served as Executive Director of Strasburg Community Ambulance Association. Norm has lectured extensively throughout his career on topics of interest in Emergency Medical Services, Workers’ Compensation and Professional Liability Insurance, Drug and Alcohol Abuse, and Childhood Injury
Prevention.
Norm is the President of the Sertoma Club of Lancaster,serves on the board of directors of Lancaster Emergency Medical Services Association, and the Long’s Park Amphitheater Foundation and is a member of the Long’s Park Commission.
Brian K. Owen, CPCU, Assistant Vice President
Claim Service Manager
Brian began with Murray Risk Management and Insurance as Claim Services Administrator in 2000. In 2004, he was promoted to Program Services Claim Manager and Assistant Vice President in 2005. Prior to Murray, he worked for Nationwide Insurance Company where he held various managerial positions, lastly as a Casualty Claim Manager.
Brian earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Finance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in and received a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
He is active with the Central Pennsylvania CPCU Chapter and is a member of the Lancaster Claims Association. He has taught at Harrisburg Area Community College, volunteered for the Special Olympics at Messiah College and was active with the West Shore Soccer Club and Red Land Little League Baseball. |
